One of the Tour managers for the Norwegian rocker Åge Aleksandersen got in touch with me about doing a picture for the singers birthday.

I was told that Åge was a fan of artist Andy Warhol and had always wanted artwork in the same style.

I had been given his favourite promo photograph, which is also one of the most famous shots of the singer, and was asked to see what i could do.

Stage 1: the original photograph
Stage 2: it was filtered to give it a "screen printed" look.
Stage 3: Areas were selected and individually colourised with deliberate over cropping to give the ink effect.
Stage 4: I then re-colourised 3 more in different colours to get a nice visual combination.
The arts final size was 70cm x 100cm and it was printed on a canvas (thanks to Copycat) to be stretched on a frame. The end result was a very authentic looking screen print.

I was told that Åge was very happy with the end results.

For all printing i really reccommend Copycat http://www.copycat.no/trondheim/index.html
