Airbrushed Guitar
This is an airbrushed Les Paul i did for a friend.
He is very into modern art and bright colours and asked for "not skulls or flames... something fun!" so i came up with this idea. The guitar was originally black, very scuffed/marked and with dents. Although it wasn't in poor condition it was very tired looking.
I dis-assembled the guitar, permanently romoved the scratch plate, aqnd then filled, sanded and repared the body. It was then primed and painted the yellow base-coat. After that i did the red design then masked the "splat effect" with masking fluid and painted the dark violet to black diagonal fade. When the masking fluid was removed, the areas it covered were not painted by the dark fade giving this unusual but fun effect. It was finished with 3 coats of clear-coat.
I also cleaned the brass fittings and replaced the volume and tone knobs with retro 70's style knobs.
