Poster and Flyer design is still an important part of todays promotion. Even in the digital age, old-fashioned posters and flyers still take it directly to the public. With the days of internet, and the massive amount of junk mail/spam, not everyone reads e-mails and joins online community based sites.

Posters, from A4 to A0 to banner, can have huge impact depending on placement. Flyers go direct to the customers hand, and with even a little one-on-one talking, can make that person choose what you are selling over competition.

My general rule for design is eye catching art with minimal large text. Too much text all over poster starts to make it look like an advert in a newspaper, a nice piece of art catches attention. If the art is directly associated with the clients information, plus an instantly recognisable logo, the poster draws attention then makes the customer want to read and get the desired information.

But poster and flyers can be as varied as imagination allows, so the more information and ideas the client gives me... the more i can work with. Remember, it is against copyright rules and regulations to use a person, brand or logo without consent from the copyright holder. If i am in doubt to whether you genuinely have that consent, i will decline to design the Poster with that image.
